The Night of Lead (Die Nacht aus Blei)

Opening Scene:

The story evolves around what seems like a dream sequence for a man. Surreal events take place within this dream, including the introduction of several strange characters. Eselein appears as a hotel bellboy but you get the impression that he is far more than this as he interacts with the dreamer.

Eventually, the tale unfolds through increasingly surreal circumstances until it becomes apparent that these are the last few moments of the man's life after a terrible beating.
