Adventure Inc - Episode 02 - Memento Mori

Overview: The Adventure Inc. team is hired by the UN Director of International Drug Enforcement to go to Cambodia and search for his helicopter that was shot down during the Vietnam War.

Synopsis by Tribune 2003

Cliff Buckley (Hardee T. Lineham), the newly appointed UN Director of International Drug Enforcement, asks Judson Cross (Michael Biehn) if he can find a crashed helicopter in the jungles of Cambodia, where it was shot down in 1971 during the Vietnam War. Buckley was a Lieutenant on the helicopter crew and the only survivor of the crash. He now wants to find the helicopter so he can give his men a proper burial.

While Buckley, Judson, Mackenzie (Karen Cliche) and Gabriel (Jesse Nilsson) board the ship and set sail, jungle drug lord Che Lao (Von Flores) receives copies of Judson and Buckley's passports from his agent at customs and finds Buckley strangely familiar.

Back on the ship, Buckley awakes to find Riley Norvo (Joseph Pierre), a soldier that had died in the helicopter crash, standing over him with bullet holes and blood stains on his shirt. Buckley sees more dead soldiers and in his frightened state, trips and almost falls over the ship railing into a pile of hooks. Luckily, Judson grabs Buckley just in time.

When the crew arrives in the jungle, Buckley again sees the ghostly image of Norvo and is suddenly pushed by an unseen force, inadvertently stepping on an old land mine. However, he is saved by the Adventure Inc. team who ingeniously remove Buckley from the land mine before it explodes. After that incident, the team is surprised with yet another explosion that takes place at the exact site where Buckley's helicopter crashed in 1971. As they move ahead, they are taken by surprise when they are suddenly attacked by Che Lao's army. Judson, Mackenzie, and Gabriel reluctantly surrender and are taken into Lao's compound. Judson and Gabriel are led to a snake pit but manage to throw their guards off balance and grab their guns.

Meanwhile, Che Lao reveals to Buckley that he knows the reason for his return. It is not for the helicopter, but for a film that shows Buckley shooting an innocent peasant woman and then shooting down the helicopter himself to avoid incrimination. During their conversation, Judson bursts through the door to rescue Buckley. Che Lao explains the story to Judson and tells him that Buckley came to destroy the tape.

Stunned at the truth about Buckley, Judson, Mackenzie, and Gabriel are held imprisoned. In their cell, the trio notice graffiti written on the wall. Judson deciphers a code, from the writing which leads him to find a loose brick and a tunnel out of the prison. The team escapes but unfortunately are spotted by mercenaries. Again, Buckley sees phantom Norvo and starts firing his gun. In the hail of bullets, Che Lao is shot and falls into the snake pit, dropping the incriminating film on the floor. Judson grabs the film and Lao's bag and takes off running. The team runs away from the mercenaries until they hit the edge of a cliff with a 100-foot drop. Judson opens Lao's bag and finds parachutes meant for cargo. With few options, Mackenzie, Judson, and Gabriel strap on the harnesses and jump off the cliff. Luckily, the parachutes hold and the team gets away safely. Buckley decides not to jump and runs into the jungle instead.

While Judson, Mackenzie and Gabriel sail home safely, Buckley is captured in the jungle and placed in a prison cell only to find himself surrounded by phantom Norvo and the rest of his ghostly army crew.
