Adventure Inc - Episode 04 - Message from the Deep

Overview: Inspired by the widow of Captain Charles Dillon (Bill Lake), the skillful diver responsible for discovering the Carmelita, the Adventure Inc. team sets out to uncover the treasure and mystery behind the infamous shipwreck.

Synopsis by Tribune 2003

Judson Cross (Michael Biehn) and Mackenzie Previn (Karen Cliche) meet with Elizabeth Dillon (Melissa Dimarco), widow of the illustrious Captain Charles Dillon, other wise known as 'Cap', a noteworthy diver who was responsible for introducing a whole generation to diving. With Elizabeth is Andros (James Thomas), a medium who has convinced her that he can communicate with her late husband. According to Andros, he was sent by Cap to tell her not to give up on continuing his unfinished work -- finding a treasure-filled sunken ship called the Carmelita.

Agreeing to follow up on Cap's 'spirit messages' with Elizabeth, Judson sends Mac diving where Cap discovered the shipwreck. Mac finds the wreck quickly, unearthing evidence that will enable them to obtain a salvage permit from Josef Alavaro (Juan Chioran), the Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs at the Government House, in order to bring up material to confirm that what they've found is the Carmelita.

Upon entering the Government House, treasure hunter Logan Kincaid (Vincent Corazza) tells the Adventure Inc. crew he has first claim on diving for the Carmelita. This enrages Gabe (Jesse Nilsson), who jumps Kincaid, starting a huge brawl. After Judson tells Alvaro they have found the ship and have photographic evidence, including the exact coordinates, Alvaro grants Judson and his team an excavation permit. But Kincaid receives a permit for the area as well.

While Kincaid and his cohort Dave Conroy (Andrew Martin) search for the site of the shipwreck, their ship hits a sandbar. While on the beach, Kincaid's companion emerges and surprisingly it's Andros. Meanwhile, Elizabeth's leg gets trapped under a fallen cannon while diving with Judson. Although Judson rescues her, Andros later tries to convince Elizabeth that the incident was Judson's doing. Then suddenly, The Vast Explorer is stormed and searched by Alvaro and a team of MP's, who attack Judson and his crew. Judson realizes he is being set up as the MP's discover a gold chalice and accuse him of smuggling the artifact from the dive site. His permits are revoked, his vessel is impounded and Kincaid takes over the ship.

Judson and Gabriel devise a unique plan to reclaim The Vast Explorer. They sneak back on board and project a computer-generated image of Cap, who appears as a talking ghost. The ghost accuses Andros and Conroy of killing him. Elizabeth soon realizes Cap's ghost is fake and that Andros is a phony who killed Cap in order to acquire the Carmelita. A chaotic fight breaks loose on the ship: Conroy grabs Elizabeth and holds a knife to her throat, but Judson intercedes and subdues him before it's too late. Gabriel and Mac keep Andros and Conroy under guard, until they are taken away by the authorities.

A triumphant Judson assures Elizabeth that the Carmelita will be properly salvaged in Cap's honor.
