Adventure Inc - Episode 14 - Legacy of a Pirate
Overview: The search for the sunken treasure of the ancient Black Mantis ship leads the Adventure Inc. crew to a castle inhabited by two immortal men.
Synopsis by Tribune 2003
Judson, Mackenzie, and Gabriel attempt to find the sunken treasure of the Black Mantis, but their attempts prove to be fruitless. However, when a ring that was said to be a part of the treasure turns up on the black market, the crew is accused of secretly keeping the treasure and selling it. Judson investigates and speaks with the man who auctioned off the ring, and finds out that he got the ring from a man named Baron Pembroke (Steven Grives).
The crew goes to Baron's English castle in the countryside and receives an odd reaction from Baron's son Daniel (Ian Duncan) when they show him the photo of the ring. Baron invites Judson, Mackenzie, and Gabriel to stay for dinner, and shows them to a room to rest. As they survey the room, Mackenzie finds a personal journal from Lord Wainwright, who stayed at the castle before being captured by the pirate John Roach, while Judson and Gabriel discover a hidden tunnel.
Meanwhile, Fiona Gray (Eva Pope), the head of an insurance company who suspects the Adventure Inc. crew of looting, sends two of her men to the castle to spy on them and take pictures to prove they stole the treasure. Thirsty for blood, the Baron sniffs out Fiona's men and brutally murders them.
Back at the castle, Daniel pleads with Baron not to hurt the Adventure Inc. team and as a fight ensues between the two, their super-human powers are revealed. Daniel defies Baron and helps Judson and company search for the hidden treasure. The group goes through the tunnel hidden behind the fireplace in the dungeon and finds the treasure, along with Fiona's men's dead bodies. They also see piles of skeletons, which turn out to be the Black Mantis crew.
While the group surveys the treasure, Baron appears and admits that he is the late pirate John Roach, a.k.a. 'John Blood'. Gabriel and Judson fight Baron and no matter what they do to try and kill him, nothing seems to work. Judson eventually shoots down a wall with a cannon, exposing Barron to daylight. The light makes Baron disintegrate into thin air. Daniel hides from the light and tells the group that he wishes to remain in the castle.
Eventually the treasure is handed to the Royal Museum, the insurance company gets its money, and the Adventure Inc. crew gets its finder's fee. As the workers take the treasure out of the cave, Judson, Mackenzie and Gabriel see a painting of Lord Daniel Wainwright; the image is of Daniel.
