Adventure Inc - Episode 15 - The Search for Arthur

Overview: The Adventure Inc. team sets out to find King Arthur's grave in the English countryside but are plagued by a series of mysterious incidents that prevent them from completing their work.

Synopsis by Tribune 2003

Judson, Mackenzie, and Gabriel are hired by the Camelot Society to prove the existence of the legendary King Arthur. Through the duration of their search, they are plagued by a series of incidents and believe they are being sabotaged. First, an explosion meant to clear ground goes awry and almost kills Judson. The next night, Gabriel is attacked by a mysterious armored knight on horseback, who chases him off the edge of a cliff, however, he is rescued by Judson. When Judson finally succeeds in unearthing a set of human remains, he is shot at from a shadowy figure in the woods, but manages to scramble to safety.

Whilst undertaking their search for the elusive grave, they encounter the wealthy and arrogant Lord Richard Briarcliff, (Christopher Villiers) tenth Earl of Wells, who is angered at the trio because they blew up part of his land. They also meet Morgan (Ezra Godden), Lord Richard's charming cousin who has to work as the ground's chevalier because his side of the family was disinherited from the Briarcliff fortune long ago.

The trio is plagued by further mishaps. Mackenzie is driven off the road while transporting the bony remains everyone thinks belong to King Arthur for analysis at the Royal Museum. Gabriel's computer, who's sophisticated forensic pathology software, was creating a fleshed out version of the skull that Judson found, is stolen.

Prior to Mackenzie's roadside accident, Judson, as a precaution, ships a single bone to the Royal Museum's lab. He learns the bone, which has been buried for only 80 to 90 years belongs to a 35-year-old Caucasian male. Meanwhile, Gabriel who backed up his work online uses the Camelot Society's computers to finish his project. Once completely done, he is shocked when the face on the screen is not that of King Arthur's but of Morgan Briarcliff.

Judson shows Morgan a computer printout of Gabriel's work. Amongst the four of them, Judson, Mackenzie, Gabriel and Morgan come up with an answer. Lord Richard, who claims ownership of the estate really is an impostor -- his great grandfather fooled everyone by claiming to be the Earl of Wells when he realized the real Earl went missing after fighting in World War One. He then proceeded to steal his identity and claim ownership of the estate. However, once the real Earl of Wells surfaced, he was murdered by the impostor and buried in his own land only to be dug up by Judson years later.

That night, the Camelot Society's Annual Costume Gala Fundraiser is held in Lord Richard's castle. The Adventure Inc. gang all attend, dressed in medieval costumes. Judson sets out to prove Lord Richard is an impostor. However, plans go awry when Lord Richard learns the trio is on to him. He locks Mackenzie and Gabriel in the family mausoleum and nearly kills Judson via asphyxiation. However, Mackenzie and Gabriel employ an ingenious method to escape from the mausoleum and save Judson. Lord Richard surrenders and the Briarcliff estate goes to its rightful owner, Morgan.
