This was well played and a great help to the insomniac strikes back.  I tormented myself by reading one chapter a day till the end.  I'm glad you left it open ended with Chris' disability, but I hope that you resolve it in another segment.  I always thought that losing my hearing would be harder t handle than my sight.  I can always visualize in my mind but not remembering the sounds of those I love...

Please tell me what LOL means.  Understand that I am a lonely wacky widow who misses her husband something fierce and your stories as well as others help ease the grief that is inescapable.  Thanks beyond words.

This was long and intense and I am so glad that you didn't give Chris the nickname Snooky Ookums(ala Fred Astaire and Judy Garland in Easter Parade).  I am also glad that Tanya lived.  Thanks for a good tight storyline.  It was a "hare-o-wing" experience.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the wonderful FB. No way would Chris have that nickname......Bareback Larabee suits him just fine...LOL....Thanks again for reading and commenting....Winnie

Excellent story, Winnie. Loved that scene when we discover that Carmichael is a police captain, who fools Chris into believing he has been 'saved'. Lots of great tension throughout :-)
