She stood, in the corner watching as he entered, he was just as she remembered. His good looks captured her heart, the first time she saw him but it was his smile that melted it.
Their brief time together left her wanting more. Why, did he have to come back? Why must he torture her this way? Didn't she give him the very best of herself the last time? What more could he possible want?
She looked around and saw no one approaching him and so, she took a deep breath sucked in her stomach held her head up high walked over to him and asked,
"Can I be of service, Mr. Larabee? Is there something wrong with your purchase?"
He looked her right in the eyes... gave her little of the old Larabee glare... and said...
"No it was a gift, Christmas gift I think, but I haven't got any use for it and it's a little to big for my... OH, never mind just figured what I can do with it and it should fit him just right. Well thanks for your help.
He turned and walked away. She stood gazing after him. "Why me, why me, why me," she kept repeating over and over. The next day they found her still standing there, still repeating, "why me"... and then she suddenly yelled "WHY NOT ME?" She promised, herself the next time Mr. Larabee came into the store she was going to be his next purchase, with a no return policy attached.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
THE END
