Excellent story, Susie! Loved how the resurfacing memories slowly merged into memories of the deadly gun battle and the knowledhge that both were injured.

Author's Response: Many thanks, Tarlan. Yes, this short angsty piece was a departure from my normal style, but I was inspired by the first segment of Tonny's Chris fic, and wanted to capture some Vin memories.

Beautiful little piece. I loved Vin's memories of his time with his mother. I was sure he had returned to Texas somehow and really was enjoying the breeze and the flowers and the wide open sky. Guess it's a good thing he wasn't, as things turned out. Love the way the guys and especially Chris were there for him. Lovely descriptions, wonderful job!

Author's Response: Nice to hear I had you guessing there, Xiola! This angsty little ficlet was quite different for me - style wise - but I enjoyed writing it from Vin's perspective. Many thanks for your kind comments - it's really appreciated.
