Author's Notes:
Thought I would give the Instant Muse Poetry Starter a try! The line I got was In the nightmare of surrender the wardens grin. Of course, the first thing I thought about was a Navy SEAL (specifically James Curran).
In the nightmare of surrender the wardens smile,
Mocking and abashing all the while.
Leering, laughing, screaming, beating,
Intense pain, coherence fleeting.
In the nightmare of surrender the wardens sneer
Humiliating barbs, their intentions clear.
Gnashing, gnawing, pounding, shaking,
Resolve slipping, body aching.
In the nightmare of surrender the wardens grin,
Pompous, smug, determined to win.
Grating, grinding, hounding, pressing,
Relentless torture, death a blessing.
