My name is Ellen Reese.

I'm resistance soldier under John Connor's command.

We're fight with machines, with Skynet.

They're a resistance soldiers too.

Derek is a First Lieutenant with the 132nd S.O.C.

Kyle is a Sergeant, he served in the 132nd division under Perry from 2021 to 2027 before transferring as a sergeant to Tech-Com under John Connor himself.

When I was fourteen year-old teenager, John Connor's wife, Kate, took me under her wing.

She learns me everythings and I became a resistance medic.

But I always wanted be a real soldiers like my brothers are...

Star and I checked our traps on terminators.

All works.

Kyle went on hunting.

Derek disappeard for a long time ago and we don't know where he is now.

I hope he's safe.

Kyle backs with nothing.

Again.

We're starving.

Today on dinner is two days' coyote.

Well, it's better than three days' coyote...

At least we're together.

Kyle, Star and I are taken Skynet's prisoners.

Marcus tryed to safe us, but he doesn't make it.

Star and I are scared.

I have no idea how, but John Connor's soldiers find us and set us free.

Some woman with red hair takes me by my hand and order me go to a helicopter.

I tell her I must find my brother first.

She look at me and ask "Who's your brother?"

I go to helicopter. I see like this woman fight with machines.

I wish I'll be like her..

Kyle backs all and safe, but Connor is hurt.

Woman with red hair is sad. I think she's Connor's wife.

Connor wants to see Kyle.

Kyle is more surprise than me.

I see like Connor give my brother his own coat with resistance sign on arm.

I can confirm this.

Kyle is touching.

I see tears in his eyes. He can't speak.

I'm touching too.

Wow! My brother is a real reasistance soldier now!

I'm very proud...

Star and I look at sleeping Connor.

We want to met this famous leader, but we feel so shy.

Suddenly I hear : "What's your name?"

It's Connor. He doesn't sleep yet and looks at me and Star.

"My name is Ellen. I'm Kyle's younger sister." I say.

"Really?" he says. "I didn't know Kyle has sister..."

I think it's amazing he even knows about Kyle's exist!

"Yeah.. We have also one brother, but he missing..." I add.

Connor nods. "I know... Derek, right?"

"How...?" I can't find words. How he knows this all?

I can't speak.

But I should to expect it.

Connor looks at Star and ask "And what's your name little girl?"

"The things she's seen..." I add with sadness.

Connor closes his eyes.

"Yeah, war is terrify..." he says and adds after while. "But you can't loose your hope..."

He opens his eyes and looks straight at me. "Never."

I go with Kyle when I see someone who looks just like Derek.

I run to him and still call his name.

"Derek! Derek, it's me, Ellen! Derek, wait!"

He turn back.

It was Derek.

My brother...

When he saw me he smiles to me.

I fall into his arms.I can't stop cry.

"Derek, it's you.. It's really you.."

He hugs me strong and whisper "Yeah, it's me Ellie. God! I find you at last!"

After while Kyle comes to us.

I look at him and I say "Kyle, look, it's Derek..."

Kyle looks at him and says cold "Where have you been? Why you left?"

Derek let me go and says quiet "Kyle, listen.. I.."

"You promised Mom you will be protect Ellie!" Kyle interrupts him. "How could you leave her alone?!?"

"She wasn't alone... You were with her..." answer Derek.

"Listen Kyle, I'm sorry, but I had to leave..." he continue.

"I couldn't idly watch how our world died day by day... I had to do something. Find some hope. And I find Connor... He is our last hope. We can fight, we can safe our world... Do you understand?"

Kyle nods.

"I'm a soldier now. I can fight... I want to find you both... But I can't find you nowhere... Till now..."

I see Kyle has tears in his eyes.

"Brother..." he says, and throws himself into the arms of Derek.

I hug them both together "Important we're together, at last...."

I just finish my meal, when I see Kyle.

He looks so lost in thought.

I've never seen him like this before.

I call him. "Kyle! Wake up! I'm here!"

He looks at me and smiles.

He comes to me and sit next to me.

"Why are you so thoughtful?" I ask him.

He comes closer and said mysteriously "I found something, Ellie..."

"What? What you found?" I ask.

"A picture.." he say in a low voice.

"It was in pocket in coat I get from Connor..."

I look on picture he takes in his hand and shows me. It was some woman with dog.

Photo was old, was taken probably before war.

Woman was very beautiful, but looks sad.

"It must be someone special for Connor, I think..." I ask quietly. "Who is she?"

"I don't know..." says Kyle.

His eyes shine when he looks at woman's face.

He can't take his eyes off her. When he speak again his voice has a new, an familiar tenderness.

"But I will find out..."

I see like Kyle rests by the wall.

He sits with close eyes and I think he sleeps.

I sit next to him and put my head on his shoulder

"I know who is she....” I hear Kyle's voice.

He don't sleep, but don't open his eyes.

"Who?” I ask.

"This woman from picture...”

"You know?” I ask with courious. „And? Who is she? Tell me...”

"I went to Connor. I returned his property...” Kyle says.

"And he told you whom she was?”

"He was very grateful, you know?” Kyle continue. He has still closed eyes.

"I can imagine that... Tell me, who is this waman?” I say.

I start to loose my patient. When he will answer on my question at last?

"He was despair, because he thought he lost this picture forever...” Kyle says calmly farther

I can't belive it. He behaves yourself as if he didn't listen me...

"Kyle!” I shout.

He started and stop speak.

He opens his eyes and look at me with an expression of complete surprise. „What?”

I take his face in my hands and look straight to his eyes.

„WHO IS THIS WOMAN?” I say slowly.

"It's Connor's mother...”

"God! At last!” I think.

"Connor's mother?” I say. „Yeah, it's can be..."

"You see? I told you before it's must be someone special for Connor...”

Kyle nods.

I let him go and we sit in silence for a while.

"You know, Ellie?” I hear Kyle's voice and I look at him.

„I still think about her...

"About Connor's mother?” I ask.

He nods so I ask. „But why?”

"I can't forget her face...” he says „She seemed just a little sad, don't you think?"

" God, I wonder what she were thinking about...” he sighs.

I smile and kiss him in cheek.

„I didn't know you're romantic, Kyle...”

Kyle smiles too and says „Yeah, to this day I didn't know about it, too..”

I hug him strong.



I always thought I know my own brother. I was surprised he concerned about a simply photo...

"It's nothing...” I think. „I'm sure he will forget about this soon.”



Future was showed how much I was wrong...

I just wake up when I hear like Derek says to Kyle.

”Come on, little brother. I will learn you shot by my new laser gun!”

”WOW! Great!” Kyle says. „Let's go!”

I stand up and go to them. „Can I go with you, boys?”

Derek looks at me and says. „No, Ellie, you can't...”

I'm disappointed.

„Why not?” I ask.

„It's not for kids, baby...” he says gently.

It's make me angry. „I'm not a kid anymore!” I shout.

Derek knits his brows „You're.. Besides you're a girl.” he says hard. „And you'll stay over here.”

” Let's go, Kyle!” He turns round and leaves.

I give Kyle an imploring look.

Kyle puts his head down and says calmly „I'm sorry, Ellie.. He's older... and he commands now...”

When Kyle leaves with Derek I sit on bed.

I start cry.

„When Derek will understand at last I'm not a kid anymore? What I have to do to prove I can fight too?” I think.

„I'm 14. I'm not a child... „ I stand up and I rise in revolt.

„I don't need your help! So what I'm a girl? I will become a soldier! I'll show you! I'll show you all!”

Just like yesterday Derek and Kyle left to learn shoot.

I stay alone.

Suddenly I see someone in my door. It's woman with red hair.

„Hi, dear... Hey, what's happen?” she asks. „Why are you so sad?”

I look at her and say by tears „I want to be a soldier too! Just like my brothers! I want to fight!”

She smiles and comes close to me.

„You're Kyle's sister... Are you, Ellie, right?” she asks.

„Ellen.” I say. „Only my brothers calls me 'Ellie'...”

„I see..” She nods. „My name is Kate. I'm John Connor's wife...” she says.

„I knew it!” I think. „Nice to meet you, Kate...” I say.

„The pleasure is mine.” She takes my hands and says „ Listen Ellen... You don't have to be a soldier to can fight...”

„I don't?” I ask with curious.

„Sure. Look at me.. I'm not a soldier...” she says and shows her belly. She is in pregnant. „But I'm one of the leaders of resistance...”

„Really?” I'm shock.

„Of course.” she says. „Not only soldiers can fight. I'm a chief of medical facility... Rescue of human's life is very important thing, belive me... Even more than simply fight. Everybody can learn to shoot... It's easy. But to safe life, you have to have a gift..”

„And you have it, Ellen... I see it in your eyes. If you want I can teach you...” she says gently.

My eyes shine when I hear her and I feel tears in my eyes. „I want. Really... Please, teach me... Thank you, Kate...”

„Your welcome...” she smiles.

I hug her and in her arms I feel so calm and safety.

She looks straight to my eyes. „Ellen Reese. Since this day you're my personal medical assistant..” she says serious.

I stand up and salute „Yes, Sir...”

Tears falls down by my cheeks but it was tears of happiness. I smile. I feel wonderful, like never before.

„Thank you...” I whisper.

I back to my room.

Derek and Kyle already back.

I want to tell him about Kate's proposition.

When I stand in door I hear like Derek says „Kid, give me a break... You speak about it for all day...”

„But Derek listen, she...” Kyle says.

„Ellie!” Derek interrupts him, because he saw me at last. „Where have you been, little sister?”

I come closer and I sit next to my brothers.

„Guys, you don't belive it...” I say. „I met Connor's wife, Kate.”

„Really?” Kyle is very excited.

„Yeah... And she said she will teach me methods of treatment people...” I'm very proud.

„I'm happy, Ellie, really...” Derek says. „I'm glad you find activity for you at last... Maybe now you stop thinking about fighting now...”

„In your dreams, brother!” I says.

Derek looks at me „What's you mean?”

„Forgeret about it, Derek..” I say. ”I will become a soldier, if you want it or not. Kate will teach me how to be a doctor, but I will be fight, just like you and Kyle.”

I come closer and look straight to Derek's eyes. „You won't catch me in some cage... I want fight and I will..”

„Bravo, Ellie!” Kyle shouts. „Forward, little sister!”

Derek looks indignant at him and says very nervous „Are you mad?”

Kyle shrugs his shoulders. „What you want, brother? She's our blood... You don't change her...”

„Probably not...” Derek sighs with resignation.

I smile and kiss Kyle in cheek. „Thank you , Kyle... I knew it you understand me.”

Derek takes me and seat me on his lap. He rufles my hair and says. „Damn! You're so stubborn...”

I smile from ear to ear and snuggle up to him.

I kiss him in cheek and say „Yeah, exactly like you... A coincidence? I don't think so...”

During breakfast Kyle says „Ellie, do you want to hear about first resistance soldier in history?”

„Sure” I say. „It's can be interesting..”

„Oh, no..” groans Derek. „I leave...”

„Leave? You don't want to hear ir, Derek?” I ask.

Derek come close to me and whisper to my ear „Ellie, he spoke me about it for all day yesterday.... I've had enough...”

I smile. „Okay...”

Derek left and Kyle sits next to me.

He gives me a coup of tea and say „Barnes told me about this Legend yesterday. Actually, I askes him.. It's doesn't matter... You don't belive, sister, but the first resistance soldier ever was Connor's mother!”

„What?” I'm shoked.

„That's right. Sarah Connor...”

I heard like Kyle tells me about Legendary Mother of The Future.

She was incredibly tough and organized. She learned John everythings she knows.

She prepered him to role Leader of Resistance since his childhood.

I heard it out of breath.

Kyle speaks without end. His eyes shine and he has flushed cheeks.

„Amazing, isn't it?” he asks when he end.

„Fantastic!” I say. „It's so hard to belive it...”

„I knew it you will like it!” Kyle smiles to me.

I look at him and smile too.

„God I wish to be like her!” I sigh.

„You will be.. I'm sure.” Kyle says.

„ You've the same determination. You will realize all your dreams, you will see.. And don't worry about Derek. He speak like that, because he loves you and he's worry about you. But in fact he is so proud of you, just like I am.”

„I know. Thank you Kyle!” I'm so touching.

I came closer and hug him strong „I love you brother...”

„I love you too, bird...”

„Bird?” I ask surprised. „You didn't call me like that for a long time...”

Kyle smile and says. „You're like a bird, Ellie... Free and independent...”

I help Kate tidy tools after operation.

I'm happy I'm here with her, I can help her and learn.

Kate is always very nice for me. I can tell her about everythings.

I twitch.

„I'm sorry, Kate...” I say.

„Kyle told me about Sarah Connor yestarday... And I'm wonder... Kate, do you met her by yourself?”

Kate smiles and sits next to me. „That's understood, dear. Sarah Connor was amazing woman. She's a real Legend and pattern for us all.. All soldier speak about her.”

„I know... But I can't stop thinking about her... ” I say. „I wonder how it's possible she knews about Judgement Day, before it's happen? How she found out about Skynet, war and this everything?”

Kate sits in silence. I speak farther.

„How did she knows she that her son, John, will be Leader of Resistance and she have to prepare him to this since childhood? What you think Kate?”

„I don't know..” she says fast.

Too fast.

I feel she's not honest to end with me and she hides something from me.

It's touch me on the raw, but I don't want to press on her.

Kate seens sadness on my face. „Every Legend has a sicrets.” She says „Maybe we will never find answers on your questions, Ellen...”

She stands up. „Come on, go back to work.”

I stand up too.

„I will find out!” I think. „Nothing won't stop me! Even if I'd have to ask Great John Connor by himself!”

I work with Kate, like every day, when I hear like someone comes to us.

It's Connor. He comes closer to Kate and hugs her fast.

He did like that by every day. Kate was everythings for him. They love each other very much.

He smiles and look at Kate ”Soldier for al the time...”.

Kate smiles too.

I feel like my heart is hammering. I nod. „Yes, Sir..”

He smiles. „I decided to create new soldiers team...” he says.

He holds Kate in arms for all the time, but he speak to me. „'The Wolfs' – it would be sabotage unit, only for the best soldiers... ”

„Wonderful!” I think. „Maybe he let me to join it?” I pray in my soul.

„I thought about your brothers, Ellen.. Do you think they would be interested of this? How old are they?” Connor asks after while.

„Kyle is 16 and Derek is 20 years old...” I say with proud of my voice, like always when I talk about my brothers..

„Hmmm... Kyle is maybe too young for this, but I heard he's a good soldier... I'm also sure Derek won't let him make some stupid... Could you tell them I have proposition for them, dear?”

Connor must hear disappointed in my voice, because he release Kate and comes closer to me.

He takes my face in his arms and look straight to my eyes.

„I need good soldiers, Ellen... But every medical orderly soldier is priceless. Do you know, what I mean? That's why I need you so much, Ellen... Don't forget about this. Just listen Kate and be patient. But don't let me wait for one of my best soldiers for so long, understand?”

I don't know what to say. I look at Kate. He smiles to me.

I swallow and say with tears in my eyes.

New soldiers unit created by Connor was very elitar, only for the best.

To this team belongs only seven soldiers: Derek, Kyle, Billy Wisher, Joe Timms, David Sayles, Casey Moon and one woman Karen Frost.

Just like I suspected, Derek, as the most oldest, taked over the leadership.

I was very proud of my brothers, but also I was scared about them.

I am waiting impatiently when Derek and Kyle back from another mission.

As soon as I can see Kyle I throw myself on his neck.

"Thank God, you return safe and alive!" I say and I breathe a sigh of relief.

Everyone burst out laughing.

I can imagine how Kyle must feel now. I do not understand why they mock Kyle. I'm mad at Derek, he allows them.

"Right, right." Wisher said, and he laughs more.

"Leave me alone!" Kyle can not stand, and he leaves.

I turn around and look for the dressing. I try to, that nobody saw how much my hands are shaking. I am so very scared when I saw the hurt Kyle.

"I have to assume the seams ..." says Kate. "Ellen, twists ..."

"Just do not cry, kid." Derek laughs.

"I'm not a child!" Kyle responds.

"Do not move, Kyle!" Kate cries. "Derek, go away. You're disturbing me ..."

I kiss him on his cheek, "Goodnight, Derek"
