The snow crunches beneath his feet as he stalks his prey. The air is cold and painful, nipping at his skin and stinging his eyes and face. Soon, he reaches the home of his prey, he sneaks and creeps the best he can without making a sound. Once at the door, he collapses through pain, hunger and coldness. The woman, his victim, opens the door and he falls in.
She nursed him back to health, only to be overwhelmed by him. He is not who he says he is. He is evil and mad. He wants revenge. But why? Why is he like this? Why does he thirst vengeance so badly? She'll find out soon enough, although it maybe sooner than she thinks.
Her husband soon returns from his journey, but comes home to find his wife has been taken hostage by a madman. By the brother he never knew he had. With the woman at gunpoint, the man takes a dog sled and leaves. But he doesn't get very far. The husband, Yan, reached into his bag and pulled out his silver fiddle and began to play it.
The screeching sound it makes is terrible and makes the dogs wild, causing the sled to stop. The man falls from the sled when it stops and the dogs attack him. Biting and scratching at the unfortunate man. While the dogs attention was on the man, the wife, Marie, runs as fast as she can toward her husband.
Knowing she is safe now, she hugs her husband but begins to cry.
"Don't cry, Marie," exclaimed Yan, "you are safe now. Blake will never be able to harm another soul again."
