Aliens - She Has Your Eyes artwork by Tarlan

Everybody, time is tight
We're walking on the edge
Of the long black night
From the left and from the right
They're walking on the edge
Of the long black night

Rick Springfield.

Ten years had passed since LV426. The aliens were dead and the nightmare was over. During the years of the aftermath, Ripley moved to Earth with Newt. She took care of the little girl like she was her own mother.

Hicks went back to the Marines. His burns were all healed and he was better then ever. He joined a new team and worked hard. He even rebuilt Bishop as his number one man.

Years passed and Hicks kept in touch with Ripley by letters. He would always look forward to getting his letters once a month. He learned that Ripley was now working as a teacher and Newt loved school and missed him. Hicks was glad to hear it. One letter Ripley added

"At least we can move on... right?"

When Hicks put away his letter he spoke to himself. "Maybe..."

Ten years later, Hicks was the same man. He was a little older but looked the same He was building his rank and respect, he loved his job and that was all. The only thing that put a break on it was when he was On Nyee14 -- a small planet were low lifes and bounty hunters lived.

He was looking for the Third Owls. The Third Owls were three bounty hunters that worked together killing poor people and stealing from Drug Lords. They were called the Third Owls because they wore owl feathers in their coats. They were on the red list and if caught, to be killed on sight.

Their names were Rick -- the leader -- Rick and Micks.

Hicks almost got killed by the one named Rick because, when going past one of the buildings the man jumped on him as if to kill him but Hicks acted fast and took out his knife and sliced half of Rick's face open. The man got away but before leaving Rick screamed at him.

"Next time I get you, you're dead! You hear me? Dead!"

Hicks just shook his head and walked off.

A year later Hicks got the sad news that Ripley died in a car crash back on earth. Newt said her funeral was short and was sorry he didn't come. At first Hicks was shocked to learn that Ripley had died just like that but the other thing was, Newt was all alone. He then shook his head knowing that she was now a young woman. She was off at school learning to become a doctor so she didn't need anyone, but still he wannted to see her.

He took the first flight to Earth and went to her home. When she answered the door he looked at her in shock. There no longer stood the body of the young girl that had bit his hand ten years ago but the body of a beautiful young woman. A flawless body with pale skin, long blonde hair and cutting blue eyes. He flet his heart jump and he knew right then that he was in love.

Both started seeing each other that year. Their time together was sweet and loving and he felt better being around her. He loved to kiss her and touch her, and he knew she was his soul mate.

Later that year, in early summer, he asked if she would marry him, and she said 'yes'.

Newt was overjoyed when it came to the wedding day. She picked a huge church and eveything had to be perfect. This made Hicks smile knowing Newt was happy.

The day of the wedding came on August 8th. It was a warm summer's day. The church was packed with old friends. Eveyone sat with smiles on their faces. Hicks stood up front and, as the music played, he watched Newt in her long, white angel like dress walk up to him.

His heart skipped a beat when they met each other up front. He could still see her dark blue eyes under the veil, and he smiled.

Before the Priest could speak the doors flew open and everyone turned. Standing there were the Third Owls, all dressed in black leather overcoats. Rick was standing in the center, distinguishable by his short brown hair and dark blue eyes. Rick was to the left with short shaggy black hair and dark brown eyes, and Micks had short spikey brown hair and forest green eyes.

All of then had shot guns.

Before Hicks could scream or push anyone out of the way the first shot came and it hit Newt straight in the chest. Hicks watched her white dress turn a dark rose color. She looked at him before hitting the floor and they locked eyes.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Hicks screamed and he rushed over to his Bride's side and held her limp bloody body in his shaking arms. He then looked up and saw the three laughing.

"Hope you have a good wedding night, Dwayne," said Micks laughing.

"Looks like she's all ready done." Ricks smiled.

"Let that me a lesson. I always win, Hicks. Always." Rick then gave a grunt and the three of them walked away.

Everyone in the chruch went mad. They screamed and ran out of the church leaving Hicks holding Newt all alone. Hicks felt his whole mind snap as he looked down at his dead bride, and he started to cry.

"Please don't leave me. Please..."

But it was too late. She was gone.

Three months later:

Hicks sat all alone in a dark room looking out the bay window. He watched the city move around him and felt nothing. There was a knock on the door.

"Come in," he said in a low dead voice.

The door opened and in came Bishop. He looked at Hicks and gave a sigh. "Your team wants to know whether to dock off or not?"

Hicks looked at him with dead eyes and then returned to the window. Bishop watched him for a long time then spoke again.

"Hicks... I know you miss her. I know she was eveything to you, but sitting in here all alone won't bring her back."

Hicks looked at him and then snapped. "I don't care Bishop. Nothing else will help the pain."

Bishop then looked at him angrily and before leaving he said, "I knew a woman once. Years ago, a thing took eveything away from her. Her friends, her daughter, her job... her whole life. But when she came back she faced the evil and she killed it, and died happy. You know who I'm talking about, Hicks... and if she was right here she would say the same. The only way to kill the pain is to face it."

Bishop then left and Hicks was once again left in the darkness. He then let out a sigh, stood up and started to dress. Before leaving he took up his knife and his gun. Now the pain would end.

It took months to find were the Owls were staying but Hicks didn't care. He went from planet to planet; his mind gone and his eyes dead, and then one day he got his lead. The three of them were staying back at their old home planet Nyee14.

Hicks walked the dark streets looking around and then his eyes went dead. There, walking along the street smoking was Micks. Hicks walked faster to the man. His hand on his gun. Before he could draw, Micks spun around with a long sickle in his hands.

"Knew it was you. I can smell your fear a mile away."

Hicks cracked a crazed grin. "Maybe that your own smell getting in the way."

Micks then thrusted the sickle towards Hick's chest. The long, silver blade tore his shirt and went into his soft flesh. Hicks jumped back with pain and looked at him. Micks laughed.

"What's wrong? Hurt you a little?"

Hicks smiled and in a flash drew out his hand gun, "Well not as much as this will hurt you."

Mick's eyes grew wide and with one crack his brains flew all over the dark street. Hicks stood there looking at man's body. He then spat at the body and walked to the main office.

Inside the falling apart building, Hicks walked up the creaking steps. He looked around the dark rooms thinking that once he feared something that had acid for blood and now the only thing he feared was himself. He then saw the main doors and entered. Inside the dark room stood Rick and Rick, and both looked with wide eyes at Hicks.

"Boys... boys... boys. You should of never been doing this."

Hicks then drew out his hand gun and aimed for both of their heads. Rick let in a sharp breath and then... nothing... the gun just clicked. Hicks looked at the gun and then at the others. Rick let out a laugh.

"Dumb fuck! You're out of clips!" Rick then drew out a long silver chain. "Ready to dance?"

Hicks then smiled. "Ready if you are?"

And just like that the two men went after each other. Hicks punched and kicked Rick each time the chain was low and jumped back each time Rick whipped the heavy chain at him. Soon the chain struck Hicks on the lower back. The pain was like a hot wave going up and down. Hicks fell to the knees and gave a groan. Ricks smiled and threw the chain away.

"Game over, bug killer." He then knelt down by Hicks and smiled. Hick's mouth dripped blood and his sharp green eyes looked at Rick.

"Not yet..."

In a flash, Hicks took out his hunter's knife and stabbed Rick right in the lower neck. Rick's eyes went wide and blood splashed on his face. Rick's body dropped to the floor in a bang and Hicks slowly got up and locked eyes with Rick. Rick looked at him.

"Is your mission almost over, Hicks. It will be once I'm dead?"

Hicks looked at the man that had taken his Love away. He hated him and wanted him dead. He hated him more than he hated the aliens that had taken his team away... or the car that killed Ripley. He hated this man and he wanted him dead.

Bishop's words passed in his mind. "Pain goes away once you face it."

Hicks knew he was right. He then let out a scream and charged his body to Rick in one huff. Rick gave out a bit of a shocked groan as Hicks hit him full force. Hicks then shoved him to the railing of the open glass bay window three storeys up. He pinned his body so it was about to fall. Rick looked down and his bright blue eyes grew big.

Rick looked at Hick's crazed look and then spoke, "I have her eyes."

Hicks looked at him confused at first. "What?"

Rick leaned closer to him. "I have Rebecca's eyes."

Hicks looked closer at the man's bright blue eyes and was shocked to see he was right. There he saw Newt's very own eyes.

"Who are you?"

Rick then smiled. "My real name is Timmy Jordan. I'm Newt's brother."

Hicks drew in a shocked breath. "But how?"

"Never mind that. I lived. I got off the planet all alone and when I found out my sister was alive, she turned me away, telling me her brother was dead. She turned into a real bitch... so I fixed her."

Hicks didn't know much about Newt's brother or how he had got off the planet but that didn't matter. He had killed his wife and now Hicks would kill him. Hicks then gave a harder push and Rick started to fall a little off the edge. Rick then grabbed Hick's dog tag's; the small chain was the only thing holding him up from death.

"I can bring you with me!" He screamed.

Hicks felt the chain pulling at his neck ready to give way. He locked eyes with the poor, scared young boy and just like that the chain broke. Hicks almost fell back from the force but held himself up and he watched as Rick, or whatever his name was, hit the ground hard.

He stood there saying nothing. It was over. No matter what. The aliens were dead, Ripley was dead, Newt was dead and so was he for, in a way, when Rick fell... he fell too.

It then started to rain and Hicks walked away.
