Corporal Hicks knew if Ripley found out that it'd be the end of their relationship. She'd never see him the way she used to. But he couldn't resist. She was there. Waiting for him. Calling out to him at night while Ripley fell asleep. He remembered those endless nights when he'd creep out of the bed and went to her. Smiling, feeling her velvet skin over his. Yes. She was very comfortable.
He remembered the first day he met her too. Ripley was the one who introduced them when they arrived at Gateway. Oh, he knew he had to have her. Oh, he just knew!
It was in the middle of the night when Hicks watched the clock on top of his nightstand. Tick tock... It's almost time, he thought. She'll be calling to him soon. Hicks sat up a little, waved a hand over Ripley's motionless face. Good. She's still asleep.
Hicks lay back down, waiting. Five more minutes now. The clock quietly ticked tock in their bedroom. His heart was pumping fast, butterflies racing inside his stomach.
Just a little more, my love. I'll be there, he thought.
A minute passed. And then two. Three. Four... Hicks felt his breath grow heavy as he quietly counted down the last minute.
An hour later, Ripley stirred in her sleep. She mumbled something and then opened her eyes. She frowned. Hicks? Where's Hicks? A soft sound came from the bathroom. Ripley slowly got up, placed a robe over her, put on her slippers, and went to investigate.
The bathroom was just down the small hallway. She noticed the light on, the door barely opened. The floor slightly creaked as her feet made contact. Ripley walked as quietly as she could, unsure what to think of this as she heard the sound again. Hicks... could he be in trouble? Is there an alien onboard Gateway? The thought sent nerves spiraling down her skin. She walked faster to the bathroom, wanting to know.
Her hand finally reached the doorknob. It trembled a bit. She closed her eyes, prepared herself for the worse. When she summoned up all her courage and strength from within, she opened the door...
... ONLY to find Hicks dancing in front of a mirror, wearing her skimpy underwear she wore at the Nostromo! The one he always seemed to admire since the time she first showed them to him!
"Ripley!" Hicks yelled, noticing her at the doorway. He immediately covered himself with a towel. "Please! Don't look at me!"
Ripley didn't know which was worse: That he was wearing women's underwear. Or that he actually looked good in them...
