Sean and his partner walked out of the squad room and to Sean's car. It was going to be another long day for them. Just minutes before the captain had been talking about the newest murders on the island. So far five women had been found dead in the last three weeks. Sean was remembering what the captain had said about the murders, that he believed that it was the work of one man. He had read the coroner's report on the last two and they had both been killed in the same way.

Sean started his car and backed out the parking spot and then turned out on to the Waikiki Boulevard. He was going to Manny's corner stand for his morning cup of coffee. He pulled over to the side of the road and parked. He opened his door and stepped out on to the curb. He could hear Manny talking to his customers as he walked closer.

"Hey Sean, you want your morning cup of coffee?" Manny asked as he poured the hot coffee in to the cup, putting a lid on it and handing it to Sean.

"How much Manny?" Sean asked as he reached in to his pocket.

"Nothing," Manny said as he waited on another customer.

"One of these days you're going to have to let me pay," said Sean, walking back to the car.

"One day I might need help and I'll just yell for you," said Manny, laughing.

"Sean, this is dispatch. Where are you?" The dispatcher asked.

"I'm down the street, what's up?" Sean asked.

"I need for you to respond to a call we just got. Some tourists were out on Diamond Head when they discovered the body of a woman," said dispatch.

"I'm responding to scene of the crime...never fails, every time I stop for coffee, we have to respond to something," growled Sean dropping the cup of coffee onto the street.

John grabbed the red light and placed it on the dashboard as Sean drove the car through the now empty street. The sounds of a siren could be heard as Sean drove to the top of Diamond Head. The coroner was already at the crime scene and Sean saw that officers had already roped off the area, as Sean opened the car door and stepped out. He and his partner John walked over to where the coroner was looking at the body of the woman.

"What do you have so far, Joe?" Asked Sean who had knelt down beside of the coroner.

"From what I can see, she was between 18 to 25. From the bruises I found she was beaten pretty badly, but the cause of death was a blunt trauma to the back of the head," said the coroner.

"Do you know how long she's has been here?" Sean asking the coroner.

"I would have to say, less than twenty four hours," replied the coroner.

"One thing that I need to know," said Sean.

"Was she sexually assaulted?" Yes, I found signs of bruises on her inner thighs. For anything more, I wouldn't know till I get her to the lab," said the coroner as the ambulance attendants put the body in the back of the ambulance.

"Let me know if you find anything more," replied Sean watching as the coroner got in his car.

"Sean, I have some of the officers looking for any evidence they can find," said John.

"That's fine, she makes the fifth victim in the last three weeks. All of the victims have been natives from the island, they all were found on Diamond Head, there has to be more and we just don't see it," Sean said walking around the scene of the crime.

"Sean," yelled Edwards walking toward them.

"Did you find something Danny?" Sean asked.

"Some of the tourist are telling us that they saw a car coming down the road. They said that the driver looked like he was in a hurry," said Danny.

"Danny, go talk to them and see what you can find out," replied Sean.

"Sean, over here, we found something." Chris said, taking out an evidence bag from his pocket.

"What did you find, Chris?" Asked Sean walking to where Chris stood.

"I found what looks to be some women's clothes. There's blood on the blouse," replied Chris putting the blouse in a bag.

"Did you find anything that might help to identify her?" Sean asked as they continue looking around.

"We didn't find anything," said Chris putting the last of the clothes in the bag.

"Danny, I'm going back to the station and check missing persons. If you find anything else, you know what to do," said Sean getting in his car.

"Hey Sean, where are you doing?" John asked running to the car.

"Back to the station," replied Sean.

"I'll go with you, maybe the coroner found something," said John.

"We have to get a break sooner or later. There has to be a connection between the five victims, if there is, what is it?" Sean asking John.

Sean and John were driving down Pacific Blvd, when they heard dispatch put out the call of an armed robbery in progress.

"All cars in the vicinity of Pacific and Krona, we have an armed robbery in progress at the Yamamoto Jewelers. We have four suspects inside of the store. Witness saw them getting out of a blue Ford Explorer," said dispatch.

Sean turned onto Kona Avenue and drove till he saw the jewelry store. He and John had started to get out of the car when they saw the men leaving the store. The men got in the blue SUV and drove off at high speed.

"I just knew that this was going to happen," said Sean chasing the SUV down Krona Avenue.

"This is Declan. Harrison and I are in pursuit of a blue Ford Explorer, the license plate number is H249560. The suspects are in the SUV. We are going down Krona Avenue. I need you to set up a roadblock at Kona and North Shore Rd," said John.

"All cars in the vicinity of Kona and North Shore. Declan has requested a roadblock, the suspects are believed to be headed that way," replied dispatch.

"This Officer Talion, we are setting up the roadblock now," replied the officer.

"No matter what happens, don't let them get past that roadblock," said John as he and Sean followed the SUV.

"This is not going to be a good day, I can just see it now," Sean said driving faster.

"There's the roadblock now. what are they doing?" Yelled John.

"Trying to avoid the roadblock by going across the medium strip. I hate it when they do that," replied Sean speeding up as he crossed the medium strip.

"Where do they think there going?" Asked John as they weaved in and out of traffic to follow the SUV.

"I don't know, there's no place to go on this island," replied Sean watching the SUV.

"Sean, they turned into that parking lot, it looks like they are splitting up," John replied as they turned into the parking lot.

"There not splitting up, but they are trying to make a run for it. I hate it when they think they have to run," said Sean putting the car in gear and jumping out of the car.

Sean started running after two of the suspects, one turned a corner, leaving Sean to chase the other one. After chasing him for a while, Sean could feel his legs getting tired. The suspect was just ahead when Sean stopped and pulled out his gun and fired a warning shot in the air.

"You have two options, either you can surrender or I can shoot you. I don't feel like chasing after you. Now make up your mind, what's it going to be? I knew that you would see it my way," said Sean as the man laid down on the ground.

"I see you got your man, we got the other three," said John helping to pick the man from the ground.

"Sometimes, I feel like I'm getting too old to chase them...or they are getting younger," Sean said walking the man back to the patrol car.

The office of Captain Harada:

"Yes sir, I understand what it's doing to the tourist business. My men are working hard to find the person responsible for the killings. I will make it top priority, you have my word on it, governor," said Captain Harada hanging up the phone.

"I take it that was the governor on the phone?" Asked Sgt. Kaleo.

"He tells me I need to work harder to catch the killer, but I have no idea who this killer could be. I have five girls in the morgue dead because of this killer, but no real evidence or even a suspect. We don't even know who these girls are," said an angry Harada.

"I don't know what to tell you," said Kaleo.

"I didn't mean to sound off like that. Did you want something Sgt?" Asked Harada looking at him.

"I almost forgot, Max is out here and wants to file a missing person's report," said the Sgt.

"Can you take the report from Max?" Harada asked.

"I would, except the missing person is one of Max's girls from the restaurant," replied the Sgt.

"Have Max come to my office and get hold of Sean and have him come to the station," stated Harada sitting down at his desk.

"Thanks Terry, for seeing me," said Max walking in the door.

"That's no problem Max. Sit down and tell me who's missing," said the captain.

"One of the girls that works for me as a dealer in the casino didn't show up for her shift this morning. At first I didn't think anything of it, but this is not like her, not to show up. She would have called me if she wasn't able to come in," said Max.

"Did anyone check her place?" Asked Harada.

"I went by there before coming here and no one has been there." said Max.

"Hey Sgt, what does the captain want with me?" Sean asking as he walks in the door.

"Max is here filing a missing person's report. One of her girls didn't show up for work." Kaleo said, getting the missing person's report from the file cabinet.

"Where is Max?" Asked Sean.

"She's in the captain's office," said Kaleo watching Sean walk toward the captain's office.

"Come in Sean, I thought that you should be involved in this one," replied the captain.

"Kaleo told me that one of your girls is missing. Do you have a picture of her and her name?" Sean asked.

"This is her picture from her name tag, and her name is Leah. Her parents live on the island. I called them and they haven't heard from her either," Max replied.

"Max, I'm going to lay on the table the pictures of five Jane Doe's. Is one of them Leah?" Asked Sean laying out the pictures.

Max sits at the table quietly looking at each picture, till she comes to the fifth picture of the woman found that morning. She picks up the picture and puts her hand over her mouth. The tears well up in her eyes till they start to roll down her face.

"Max, is this Leah?" Sean asking her as he hands her some Kleenex.

"Yes, it's her. Where did you find her?" Max asked Sean.

"Her body was found on Diamond Head. We think she may have been a victim of the Diamond Head killer," replied Sean.

"Why did he kill her?" Asked Max.

"We don't know why. Max, do you recognize any of the girls?" Sean asked.

"This one, her name is Myling. Her parents own The Tea House down the street from my place. She's dead, isn't she?" Asked Max.

"Yes, she was the fourth victim," replied Sean.

"Who would do something like this?" Max asked looking at Sean.

"We don't know who is responsible for the murders, but we are working on it. When we find out anything, I'll let you know, Max," answered Sean.

"Max, did Leah have any friends that might know something about her, like did she have a boyfriend or engaged to anyone?" Asked Harada.

"She had several friends at the casino and the restaurant. She had a roommate, her name is Jenny. She's a hostess at the restaurant," replied Max with a sad tone in her voice.

"Max, are you going to be alright?" Sean asked her.

"I'm alright. I need to go back to the hotel and call Leah's mom and let her know," replied Max, getting up from the table.

"Are you sure?" Sean asked.

"Yes, I'm sure," replied Max walking to the door.

"Sean, make sure she gets to her car. She doesn't look like she's alright to me," said Captain Harada.

"I'll make sure," said Sean, following Max.

"Danny and Chris, in my office right now," said the captain following them into his office.

"What's up with Max?" Danny asked.

"Max, came to report a missing person. One of her girls didn't show up for her shift at the casino. She has identified the woman that was found this morning as Leah Thomas. I want you to go to the casino and ask questions. Her roommate works at the restaurant. Her name is Jenny, find out what you can," Harada said as the boys walked out of his office.

Sean followed Max to her car. She was starting to open the door, when turned to see Sean coming toward her.

"Max, Are you sure you're okay?" Asked Sean closing the door of the car.

"I'll be okay, Sean. I just need to go back to my office. I have to try and explain to some people what has happened," said Max backing out and driving off.

"I saw that look on your face, Max. There's more than you're telling me," Sean murmured to himself as he walked back through the doors.

Sean walked back to the squad room, he had left the pictures of the victims laying on his desk. He sat down at the desk and looked at each of the pictures. There is something here and it has to do with this picture, thought Sean looking at the last picture. "Why did it upset Max?" He asked himself. "I've seen this picture before, but it was a different woman, think Sean where did you see it before."

"Sean! Sean! I've been calling your name for the last few minutes, didn't you hear me?" Asked Harada.

"No, I didn't hear you. What did you want?" Sean asked.

"John's downstairs with the coroner, they found something," replied Harada.

Sean stood up from his desk, he put the picture in his pocket and started down the hallway to the coroner's office.

"What did you find?" Asked Sean coming through the door.

"Your fifth victim has a tattoo on her left arm. When you first look at it, it makes no sense but I remembered that the fourth victim also had a tattoo on her left arm. I wondered about the other three, we still have their bodies in freezers, so I went to check their left arms and found the tattoo. When you put them together, it forms a picture," said the coroner.

"That means our killer knew each of the victims well enough to get those tattoos done," said John looking at Sean.

Sean walked over to a board where the pictures of the victims were posted.

"Joe, do you know the names of the victims?" Asked Sean looking at the board.

"I'm hoping that dental records will help to identify them," replied Joe.

"We have been able to identify the last two victims. The fourth victims name is Myling. Her parents own The Tea House. I want you and John to go talk to her parents and see if she had a new boyfriend in the last three weeks," said Sean.

"Who identified her?" Asked John.

"Max did, one of her girls didn't show up for shift last night, so she reported her missing. The woman that was found this morning was the missing woman. She said that Myling had worked for her in the restaurant during the summer," said Sean.

"Sean, you just said something that we haven't thought about. The last two victims worked for Max. Is it possible that at one time or another the other three may have worked for Max?" John asked.

"I have to go see Max, I'll ask her," replied Sean walking of the coroner's office.

"Did he look like he had something on his mind?" John asked.

"He sure did look like it," said Joe.

The Hawaiian Hotel--The penthouse:

Max stood at the bar pouring scotch into the glass, then she drank it all in one swallow. Why, thought Max as she threw the glass cross the room. She couldn't control her emotions as the tears rolled down her face. Max took another glass and poured more of the scotch into it and drank it all. She poured another glass and drank it just as fast as the others. She walked to the middle of the room and just stood there crying. Max heard the door open as Sean walked in.

"I left orders at the desk that I wasn't to be disturbed. So whoever you are, get out," yelled Max. "Didn't you hear me, I said to get out." Just then Max turned and threw the glass across the room.

"That was close," exclaimed Sean as the glass hit the wall shattering into pieces.

"What are you doing here, Sean?" Asked Max walking to the window an looking out at the ocean.

"I saw that look on your face when you saw that picture," replied Sean walking toward Max.

"What look was that?" Max asking Sean as she stood there crying.

"You looked like a parent that had just seen the picture of their child. Leah is your child, isn't she? I'm right, aren't I?" Asked Sean.

"Yes, she was my daughter, but I didn't realize that it was her till a few days ago. She was living with my sister in California. The last time I saw her, she was three weeks old," said Max through the tears.

"Max, sit down," said Sean putting his arm around Max and walking her to the sofa.

"How did you find out?" Asked Max.

"I was looking at the picture and there was something about her face, like I had seen it before. After a while I realized that she looked just like you," said Sean.

"My sister called me a few months ago and told me that Michelle had left, but she didn't know where she had gone to," replied Max.

"How did she get to be a dealer here?" Sean asked.

"She must of come here looking for a job, one of my assistants must have hired her," replied Max.

"You called her Michelle, I thought her name was Leah?" Said Sean.

"Leah was her middle name, that's why I didn't know it was her," replied Max.

"When did you realize it was her?" Asked Sean.

"I was in the restaurant when she came up to me. She wanted to thank me for giving her a chance. I just sat there, it was like looking at me at that age," said Max.

"Do you know why she came here?" Asked Sean.

"My sister called me, she said that Leah had found a picture of me holding her when she was a baby. There was also a letter from my parents addressed to Leah. My mom had told her everything, about how her dad had left me and that I had to give her up, because I couldn't take care of her," replied Max still crying.

"Who did you give her to?" Sean asked

"I gave her to my sister. She agreed to take care of her till I could come for her, but every time I tried, something would happen. Then I met David who changed my whole life. By then my sister and her husband thought that she was their daughter. So I left her there. I told David about her and he understood, but I just couldn't take her away from my sister," replied Max getting up from the sofa and walking to the window. Max stood there looking at the sky as the tears rolled down her face.

"Do you think that she came looking for you, Max?" Sean asking Max as he walked over to her. Sean put his arms around her.

"In my heart I know that she came looking for me," said Max laying her head back on Sean's shoulder.

The Four Aces Casino:

"Why do we always have to do the interviews?" Asked Gaines as they drove into the driveway of the casino.

"Because Sean is busy, plus the captain ordered us to do it. You know Gains, you need to quit complaining. We could be doing something that we don't want to do," said Danny getting out of the car.

"Like what?" Asked Chris closing the door behind him.

"We could be out there bringing in drunks from off the street. Do you want to do that?" Danny asked Chris.

"Okay, okay I don't want to do that," replied Chris following Danny through the sliding doors.

"I have a list of names of people we need to talk to. They knew Leah or worked with her. She had a roommate, her name is Jenny. She works in the restaurant, so let's start with her first," said Danny walking toward the restaurant.

"Does all of this really belong to Max?" Asked Chris slowly turning around in the lobby of the casino.

"It really belongs to her," replied Danny, stopping to answer Chris.

"How did she get all of this? Did she buy it?" Chris asked.

"She was married to David Maxwell, he owned all of this. He was suppose to be a multi-millionaire. He owned other places on the mainland, then he was killed in a plane crash a few years ago," replied Danny standing at the entrance of the restaurant.

"This place looks like it's expensive," said Chris looking around the room.

"It is, and you can't afford it," replied Danny walking into the restaurant.

"Can I help you?" Asked the hostess from behind the desk.

"We are looking for Jenny, is she here?" Danny asked.

"May I ask why you want to talk to her?" Asked the woman.

"This is Detective Gaines and I'm Detective Edwards. We are investigating the murder of her roommate, Leah, and we need to ask her some questions," said Danny showing his badge.

"Jenny is in the manager's office, they just told her about Leah. If you follow me I'll show you the way," replied the woman walking to the manager's office.

"Thank you," said Danny opening the door.

"Come in, Captain Harada called and let me know that you were coming," said the manager sitting down at the desk.

"We need to ask Jenny some questions about her roommate," said Chris looking at the manager.

"Let me go get her. This has been a shock, I'm sure you can understand," replied the manager.

Danny and Chris watched as the manager left his office and walked into another room. He was gone for several minutes before coming back with Jenny. She sat down in a chair next to the manager's desk.

"Jenny, I'm Detective Edwards and this is Detective Gains. We need to ask you some questions about your roommate, Leah. Do you know how long she has been here?" Asked Danny.

"She's only been here for a couple of months," said Jenny.

"Did she have a boyfriend or anyone that she was close to?" Chris asked.

"There was this guy, she said that Angie introduced her to him. They only went out a few times. She told me that there was something about him that she didn't like," answered Jenny.

"Did she tell you what it was?" Asked Danny.

"He kept insisting that she get a tattoo on her arm. She told him that she didn't like tattoos and wouldn't do it, but a week later she came to work with a tattoo on her upper arm. Her shirt sleeve covered it. After work she showed it to me, I told her that it looked like a piece of a puzzle," replied Jenny.

"When was the last time you saw her?" Chris asked.

"I was getting ready for work, she told me she had an errand to run and then she would coming to work. I never saw her after that," replied Jenny.

"Jenny, we need you to look at some pictures. Tell us if you know any of them," replied Danny, laying the pictures on the desk.

"Do you know any of them?" Chris asked.

"No I don't, I'm sorry," said Jenny.

"Can I look at the pictures, detective?" Asked the manager.

"That's no problem, do you recognize any of them?" Danny asked.

"The first one, her name is Laura Hays. I hired Leah to take her place when she didn't show up for a work. She hadn't been to work for over a week. She kept saying that she was going back to the mainland, that's why I hired Leah," said the manager.

"Her body was found on Diamond Head two weeks ago. She had been hit with a blunt instrument. She had a tattoo on her left arm," replied Danny.

"If you can remember anything else, just call us at this number," Chris said, handing a card to Jenny.

"Thank you for seeing us," said Danny getting up and walking out of the manager's office.

"What about that list of names you have?" Asked Chris.

"We don't need to talk to them, I think that we have a connection between the victims," said Danny walking toward the lobby.

Danny and Chris were starting to leave, when they looked to see the elevator door open and Sean walking out of it.

"That's Sean, they said he was busy? So why is he here?" Asked Chris.

"Don't ask," replied Danny walking toward the door.

"Danny...he came down from the penthouse," replied Chris staring at Danny.

"Just don't ask," snapped Danny, getting in the car.

Honolulu Police Dept:

Officer Tamiya walked into the room, she was reading the notes that she had taken on her visit to The Tea House. She had gone there to talk to the parents of the fourth victim, Myling. She sat down at a desk, she was feeling really bad. She had to tell them that their daughter was dead. She sat there, she could still see the look on the faces of her parents. She could feel the tears start to well up, she covered her face with her hands as the first tear started fall.

"Linh are you all right?" Sean asked coming over to where she sat.

"I'm okay, I have never had to do anything like that before and it got to me. I went to talk to Myling's parents. I had to tell them that she had been found dead. I asked them if she had a boyfriend. They told me about this man that kept coming around. One day Myling left with him. They never saw her again, till I showed them the picture," replied Linh wiping the tears away.

"Did she have a tattoo on her left arm?" Sean asked.

"I asked her mother about it and she told me that Myling had one," said Linh.

"Thanks, Linh," said Sean sitting down at his desk.

"Sean, Joe wants us to come down to the lab, he says that he found something," replied John as he and Sean walked out of the squad room.

"What did you find Joe?" Sean asked.

"You were talking earlier about all of the victims having tattoos on their left arms. I went to the morgue and took a picture of each tattoo. Each of them are connected to the next one. It's like putting a puzzle together," said Joe.

"Do they mean anything, once they are put together?" Asked Sean looking at the photos.

"I don't know that much about Hawaiian history, but I would have to say yes. You need to find someone that does, they may be able to help you," replied Joe as Sean picked up the photos and started back to his desk.

"Sean, do you know anyone?" John asked.

"Yes I do, he a descendant of the last king. He should be able to tell me what the tattoos mean," said Sean walking out the door to his car.

"Are you sure he's going to know what the tattoos mean?" John asked closing the car door.

"All I have to do is find him," replied Sean, pulling out of the parking lot.

"What do you mean find him?" John asked with a surprise look on his face.

"I need some coffee, guess I'll go see Manny," Sean said turning on to Ocean view Lane.

"Coffee, you want coffee now?" Asked John looking at Sean.

"You never know what you can find at Manny's," replied Sean turning into Manny's place.

"Hey Sean, how can I help you?" Asked Manny walking over to the car.

"I'm looking for Jimmie Kahano? Have you seen him lately?" Asked Sean looking at Manny.

"How about some coffee, Sean, I have a new blend, you might like it," said Manny giving the cup of coffee to Sean.

"Thanks, Manny," said Sean taking the cup. He sat the cup on the dashboard and took the napkin from around the cup.

"He didn't tell you where to find Jimmie, did he?" John said.

"He told me where to find Jimmie," said Sean handing the napkin to John.

"This says the sand box," said John frowning at Sean.

Sean drove down Ocean view Dr. until he came to Plantation Rd, where he turned and then drove down the road that led to the Konaki beach. He turned into the parking lot, that led to the beach. He got out and started to walk toward the sandcastle that was being built. Sean walked out to the castle, letting his eyes roam for signs of Jimmie.

"I know your here, Jimmie," yelled Sean still walking around.

"No I'm not," yelled a voice.

"I don't have time to play games, Jimmie. I need to talk to you. Jimmie, you're the only one that can help me," replied Sean.

"Do you really mean that, Sean?" Asked the voice.

"Yes Jimmie, I really need your help," said Sean.

"Is he all right?" Asked John.

"Sometimes he is...and then sometimes he's not," replied Sean.

"Can he help us or not?" John asked.

"Jimmie, you're the only one that knows anything about the kings. I need your help," said Sean.

"All right I'll help you. I'm coming out," replied Jimmie walking out of the sand castle.

"Jimmie, do you know what's going on?" Sean asked.

"Yes, that's why I was hiding. I don't like it," said Jimmie with a scared tone in his voice.

"Jimmie, I know your scared, but I need your help with this," Sean said.

"He's a descendant of the last king. You have to be kidding me," replied John frowning at Sean.

"Jimmie, I need you to look at some pictures for me. Can you do that please?" Asked Sean laying the pictures out on the hood of the car.

"You want me to look at these don't you?" Asked Jimmie.

"Yes Jimmie, just tell me what you know about the tattoos. What do they mean?" Asked Sean looking at Jimmie.

"Are you sure that he knows what he is doing?" John asked Sean.

"He may not look it, but he does know what he is doing," said Sean watching as Jimmie picked up each picture and looked at it.

"Sean, this doesn't look good. The tattoos were found on women. I'm right, aren't I?" Jimmie asked.

"Yes," said Sean.

"Where were the victims found?" Jimmie asked Sean.

"They were found on Diamond Head," replied Sean.

"He thinks that he is a king. Diamond Head is where the kings use to make sacrifices to the gods. They would sacrifice their enemies. They would put a tattoo on the person's arm. That same tattoo was put on the king's line of heritage. It would show how many sacrifices he made to the gods during his reign. Sean, there are only five here, there should be six tattoos to complete the circle. Sean, do you some paper and a pencil? I'll show you what it looks like," said Jimmie.

"Just put it on my notepad," said Sean handing it to Jimmie.

"The king would have a tattoo, surrounded by the six tattoos of those sacrificed to the gods," said Jimmie looking at Sean.

"That means he's going to kill one more," replied Sean.

"Sean, your tattoos were done by Henry Kilannahee. He specializes in those kinds of tattoos that the ancient kings wore," stated Jimmie.

"Thanks Jimmie, and this should help you," Sean said putting some money in Jimmie's hand.

"Where do we find this Henry Kilannaheee?" John asked walking back to the car.

"There's a small area of Honolulu that is known as tattoo row. We should be able to find him there," replied Sean turning onto Ocean view Dr.

"I hope you're right," said John.

Sean picked up the cell phone that lay beside him on the seat. He dialed the station's number as he drove. He could hear the phone as it rang in the captain's office.

"This is Harada, what do you need, Sean?" Asked the captain.

"The killer is going to hit again. I just talked to Jimmie and he told me that the killer thinks that he is one of the kings. The tattoos show others just how many sacrifices the king has made to the gods. The killer has one surrounded by the other tattoos. I need for you to have someone check and see if we having any missing persons in the last twenty four hours. Between eighteen and twenty five," replied Sean.

"Sean, Max called and she needs to talk you. She said to call when you could okay," said Harada.

"I'll call her as soon as I can, thanks Terry," replied Sean.

"I don't mean to pry into your business, but you're married, but right now your separated. So where does this Max play a part in your life?" John asking Sean.

"You know a lot about my life, but when it comes to Max, that's where it ends. Don't ask me any more about Max," replied Sean with an angry look on his face.

Sean turned on to the road that was lined with tattoo shops on both sides of the street. He drove down the road looking at the signs until he found the one with Henry Kilannahee's name on it. He pulled over to the curb and turned the car off.

"Sean, do you know this guy?" Asked John getting out of the car.

"Nope," said Sean closing the car door behind him.

Sean and John walked to the front door of the shop. Sean opened the door and started in, John followed behind him, they walked to the middle of the room where Henry was working on a tattoo for the man sitting in the chair.

"Can I help you," said Henry still working on the man's arm.

"I'm Detective Harrison and this is Detective Declan. We were told that you specialize in the tattoos of the ancient kings?" Sean asked looking at the Henry.

"Yes I do, so how can I help you?" Asked Henry still looking down.

"We have some pictures for you to look at. Can you tell us if these are your designs?" Asked Sean taking the pictures out of his pocket.

"Give me a second and I'll be done with this man. Leave your arm in this position for a few seconds, then you can move it. Now detectives, how can I help you?" Asked Henry.

"We need you to look at these pictures and tell us if these are yours," Sean said laying the pictures down. He watched as Henry picked up the pictures and looked at them.

"These are my designs," said Henry.

"In the last three weeks, do you remember putting these on any women?" Asked Sean.

"Yes," said Henry.

"Are these the women?" Asked Sean showing the pictures of the victims to Henry.

"They have all been here to have a tattoo put on their left arm. I thought that it was odd that each one came with the same man, only a few days apart. This girl here, was just in my shop a few days ago. The man had a certain one that he wanted done. He said that he liked my designs for the tattoos based on the old kings tattoos," said Henry.

"Do you remember what this guy looked like?" Asked John.

"He was about six foot with dark hair. Probably weighed about one ninety. The first time that I saw him was about a month ago. He told me that he had been told about my designs and then he wanted to know if had a tattoo that would have been worn by the kings. I showed him one. He asked me if I could put it on his chest. I said no problem," replied Henry.

"If this man comes in again, call us at this number," said Sean giving him a card.

"Can I ask why your looking for him?" Henry asked

"We need to ask him some questions in the deaths of five women. They all had one of your tattoos on their left arm," said Sean.

"He was just here a couple days ago and asked me to put this tattoo on his chest. Until I saw your pictures, I had no idea what he was doing. He's creating this," said Henry pulling back the sheet from the life size figure.

"That's the last king of Hawaii," said Sean looking at the figure.

Sean and John walked out of the store and got into the car. He went to start the car, when his cell phone started ringing. He picked it up and looked a the number, it was Max calling. He pushed the button to answer the call.

"I need to drop John off at the station and then I'll be there okay," replied Sean starting the car and driving back to the station.

"John, get Danny and Chris to help you go through missing person's. We have to find the next victim," Sean said as John got out of the car.

"Sean this is not right, you have a family," said John getting out of the car.

"Don't go there," Sean said driving away.

Sean drove the few miles to the hotel. He thought about what John had said to him. What he was doing was no mistake, but his marriage had been. He told himself that the only good thing that came out of it was his son. He pulled into the drive of the hotel. He got out and walked through the doors and to the elevator that went to the penthouse. He stood there waiting for the door to open. Finally the door opened and he walked to the door of the penthouse. He opened it and walked in.

"Is that you, Sean?" Max asked as she staggered out of the bedroom.

"Oh my god Max, how long have you been drinking?" When I left you were asleep," replied Sean catching Max before she fell.

"I don't know. I told myself that I would have one and that one became more," replied Max as Sean help her to the sofa.

"Max, did you call your sister?" Sean asked.

"Yes, she'll be here tomorrow," replied Max who had started crying.

"It's okay Max, I'm here," replied Sean. as Max laid her head on his shoulder.

"Sean, can you stay here? I don't want to be alone right now." Max asked Sean.

"I'll stay with you, Max. Why don't you lay your head on the pillow and close your eyes. I'll be here when you wake up," replied Sean, covering Max with a blanket.

"What would I do without you, Sean?" Max asked as she fell asleep.

Sean stood there in front of the window looking out, he turned to look at Max.

"What would I do without you Max?" Sean asked himself.

The Hawaiian Hotel/The Penthouse

Max could hear the phone ringing in the penthouse, she just stood there looking out the window. Then she turned and walked away from the window. She walked to the table and picked up the ringing phone.

"This is Max. Yes, make it for two and thanks, Eric. My sister is flying into the Honolulu airport, can you send my car to pick her up. I don't need anything else. Thanks, Eric," said Max.

"Do you want me to put her in one of the suites or is she going to be staying in the penthouse?" Eric asked.

"She can stay in the penthouse," replied Max putting the phone back in the cradle.

"Max, I fell asleep, didn't I?" Sean asking as he sat up in the chair.

"I woke up about two and you were asleep. I covered you with a blanket. Then I went to bed," replied Max walking toward Sean.

"What time is it?" Sean asked looking at his watch.

"It's after eight," said Max walking to the door to answer the knocking on the door.

"I need to get to the station," said Sean looking at Max.

"I called Terry, he said to come in as soon as you can," Max replied answering the door.

"Good morning Max, I brought up what you ask for. Robert went to his place, but he didn't know what he would wear so he brought back a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. There are some other things in there for him too," replied Eric who had started to close the door.

"Thanks, Eric," said Max as Eric closed the door behind him.

"Max, what is this?" Sean asked looking at the table.

"I had Eric bring up breakfast, normally I would go down to the restaurant, but not today," said Max walking over to Sean. After getting closer, she handed him the bag with the clothes in it.

"What's this? It looks like my clothes," replied Sean looking in the bag.

"It is, I thought that you might like to change clothes before going in. So I sent Eric to your place," said Max pouring coffee into a cup.

"Was there anyone there?" Sean asked picking up the cup.

"There was no one there, but it looked like someone had been looking for something. Furniture had been turned over and there was clothes thrown all over the bedroom," replied Max looking at Sean.

"I don't know how much more of this I can take. Everyday she gets worse. Those were my clothes, that she threw around the room. She thinks she is hurting me, but she's only hurting herself. Her dad told me that this happened to her mother. The doctors told us that there is nothing that we can do for her, but I can protect my son from her craziness. He's the only one that I care about, except for you, Max, and you know how I feel about you," said Sean looking at Max.

"I know," replied Max looking at Sean.

"I should go take a shower and then I need to report to the station," said Sean looking for the bathroom.

"The bathroom is through that door on the left," said Max pouring more coffee into the cup.

Sean walked down the hallway to the bathroom, closing the door behind him. He turned on the water, then he unsnapped the jeans and pulled the t-shirt up over his head. He stepped into the shower and let the water run down him. I told her that she knew how I felt about her. Why did I say that, why can't I tell her how I really feel? Sean asked himself.

"Max, I have to go to the station, John just called me on my cell. We may know who the killer is," said Sean standing there in his jeans as he pulled the t-shirt down over his head.

Max watched as Sean walked to the door. He opened the door and stood there for a few seconds, before turning to look at Max, he walked back to where she stood. He put his hand on her cheek and then kissed her on the lips.

"We need to talk about this," said Sean walking out the door.

"Yes we do," replied Max as Sean closed the door behind him.

Honolulu police dept.

"Has Sean got here yet," Harada asked coming out of his office.

"I just talked to him, he's on his way now," John replied as Sean came walking into the squad room.

"I heard my name coming in the door. So what's going on?" Sean asked.

"We may have a break in the Diamond Head case. A Henry Kilanahee called here this morning. He said that a man called him about getting a tattoo done. He said that it was his girlfriend that wanted to have a certain tattoo put on her arm. He told the man that he needed an appointment. He's suppose to be at the tattoo shop at 1:00. Sean, put your people together for the raid but first I need to see you for a minute, in my office please," said Harada.

"What's the matter?" Sean asked walking into the captain's office.

"I need to know what's going on between you and Max?" Asked Harada sitting down at his desk.

"To be honest, I'm not sure. When I made that promise to David, I didn't know that it would lead to this," said Sean sitting down in a chair.

"Sean, the reason I asked is because dispatch received a 911 call from your house. When the police arrived they found the front door opened and furniture turned over. They checked the house, but there was no one home. While the police were there, your father-in-law came to the house. He told them that Nick had come running to his house. Nick told them that his mother was doing some crazy things. They took a report and left," said Harada

"Now you know, she's not getting any better. Her dad and I both agree that she needs to be in the hospital. The doctor says that soon she won't even know who Nick is, or her dad...or me. Jake is willing to let Nick stay with him while I work," replied Sean.

"The only reason I asked is because I'm your captain and your friend. You can tell me anything. You're one of my best detectives and when your having problems, it could hurt your work here," replied the captain.

"That's no problem. Now to set up this raid," said Sean walking of the captain's office.

"Danny, I want you and Chris to stake out the tattoo shop. Keep your eyes open just in case he should come early all right?" Asked Sean looking at them.

"No problem, Sean," said Danny as he and Chris walked out of the squad room.

"Kaleo, call the swat team for me, tell them to set up a perimeter around the tattoo shop, but to stay out of sight," said Sean.

"I'm on it, Sean." Kaleo replied .

"One of the things we are going to have to do is to wait on him to make the first move. We can't arrest him at the tattoo shop. We have to wait. He has to take her to Diamond Head to kill her. Our timing has to be perfect, in order to protect the victim. Once he makes an attempt on her life then we can arrest him and then make the connection to the other victims," said Sean. "Kaleo, tell the Lt. with the swat team that as soon as our man leaves the tattoo shop, have his men follow from a distance," replied Sean, giving orders to officers.

"Sean, the phone is for you," said John handing the phone to Sean.

"Tell them I'll call back later," replied Sean, talking to the officers.

"Sean, you need to take this call, it's Nick and he sounds scared," replied John handing the phone to Sean.

"It's dad, Nick, what's wrong?" Sean asked his son.

"It's mom, she's cutting everything up. She has a pair of scissors. She just cut up all of the curtains in the living room and now she is in the bedroom cutting up the mattress. She says that there are bugs in the mattress and this is the only way she can get rid of them."

"Nick, hang up the phone and call grandpa Jake. I'll send someone over to check on you," said Sean turning to Officer Tamiya.

"What's the matter, Sean?" Linh asked.

"Linh, I need for you and another officer to go to my house. That was Nick on the phone. Jake should be there by the time you get there. Have him call my wife's doctor and have her admitted to the hospital. Tell him that I'll come by later and sign the papers," said Sean putting his hands over his face.

"I'll take care of it, Sean. John is waiting for you," said Linh.

"Thanks," Sean said walking out to the parking lot.

John was already in the car when he got there. He opened the door and sat down in the seat. He started the car and pulled out of the police lot onto Pacific Blvd. He he knew that he had to get his mind on his job. He had sent Officer Tamiya to his house and Jake was there by now. He knew that they would take care of Nick, but he still was worried about him.

"Sean, if your worried about Nick being around her, why don't you send him to your parents?" John asked.

"I don't have any parents, I was orphaned when I was little. They were killed in an accident. Maybe you should read my personnel file, then you'll know where I'm coming from," said Sean as he drove to Diamond Head.

"Sean, this is Danny, our man just left the tattoo shop. The swat team should be there soon. They took another way, so he wouldn't see them. He's about two blocks ahead of us," said Danny.

"Don't get too close, I don't need him to get scared and decide to run," said Sean turning on to the road that led to Diamond Head.

"Understood," said Danny.

"This is Detective Harrison, as soon as our man has turned on to the road that leads to Diamond Head, I want a roadblock set up. Make sure he doesn't see you," replied Sean.

"Sean, this is Kaleo, he just turned onto the road to Diamond Head," replied Kaleo.

"Everybody take your positions and remember he has to make the first move," Sean said watching the car drive up the road.

"Why did you bring me here? I thought that we were going to Waikiki for the afternoon?" Asked the woman looking at the man.

"I changed my mind and decided to come here. We can go to the beach later. I like to look at the ocean from the top of Diamond Head. Is that all right with you?" The man asked.

"I guess so," said the woman.

"How about if we stop and walk to the top?" Asked the man parking the car.

"All right," said the woman getting out of the car.

The couple started to walk the short distances to the top of Diamond Head. Sean and his men watched as they made the climb.

"Sean, what's he pulling out from the back of his jacket?" Chris asked.

"Sean, this is Kaleo, that looks like a war club from here," replied Kaleo.

"That could be our murder weapon?" Sean answered.

"He's standing behind her, he's starting to bring it up to the back of her head," exclaimed John, who was starting to move.

"Everyone move in, he's raised the club to hit her," yelled Sean as they rushed the man.

The suspect hears the police as they move in. He starts to push the woman over the edge of the cliff. She starts to fall, but is able to grab the edge of the cliff. She hangs there screaming, as the suspect runs down the hill.

"Get the woman. I'm going after him . Why do they always have to run," yelled Sean running after the guy.

"Sean, this is Chris, we have the suspect in custody," said Chris putting the man in the squad car.

"Thanks Chris," replied Sean standing there, breathing hard.

"I picked this up at the top of the cliff. Kaleo says that's it's a smaller version of the war clubs used by the kings. I imagine the dried blood will match our victims," said John.

"How's the woman doing?" Sean asked.

"She has some cuts and bruises from where she slid down the cliff, but she'll be okay. I tried to ask her some questions, but she's not in any shape to answer any, right now," replied Danny.

"Can you guys make sure he gets to the station. I have something to do," said Sean with a sad tone in his voice.

"We can handle it, Sean," said John watching as Sean drove down the road to Pacific Dr.

Sean pulled into the driveway of the hospital. He got out and walked to the front doors. Jake and Nick were waiting for him in the waiting room as he walked in. Sean could see the sad looks on their faces. He didn't want to do, but he had no choice. He had to be able to protect Nick from his own mother.

"You know that I don't want to do this, but I have Nick to think about. I'm afraid that one day she could hurt him," said Sean looking at Jake.

"Sean, you don't have to explain to me. I just never though that my daughter would suffer from the same disease that her norther had," said Jake, Sean's father-in-law.

"Excuse me, but are you Sean Harrison?" the nurse asked.

"Yes, I am," replied Sean looking at the nurse.

"I need for you to come with me. You need to sign some papers," said the nurse taking Sean to a room.

"Could I talk to the doctor please?" Sean asked.

"I'll go get him. I need you to sign your name where you see an x," replied the nurse.

"Detective Harrison, I'm Dr. Fields. You want to know if she's going to get any better. The answer is no. Her condition is getting worse. In the last few months the disease has gotten worse. Her father told me that her mother had the same thing happen to her. I know that you feel guilty, but this is the only thing that you could do to help her. Just call me when you want to know about your wife's condition," said Dr. Fields

"Thanks Doctor," said Sean walking out of the room. He walked down the long hallway, where Nick stood with Jake. He could feel the tears falling as he hugged his son. I had to do this to protect Nick, Sean told himself.

"Jake, I have to take care of something. Can Nick stay with you?" Sean asked.

"I had already taken some of his things over to my place. I'm sending someone over to clean the mess in your place. Is it Max? I heard the last victim worked for her," said Jake.

"She was actually Max's daughter, she hadn't seen her since she was three weeks old. The funeral is today. I thought that I could be there for her," Sean said.

"You don't have to explain it to me. Max is a friend too," replied Jake.

Jake and Nick walked out to where Jake had parked his car. Sean followed them and gave Nick another hug. He smiled at Nick as Jake drove away.

Sean got in his car and drove to his house. He changed his clothes and drove to the hotel. He was walking across the lobby when he saw the door to the penthouse elevator open. Max walked of it with her sister beside of her.

Sean stood next to Max and listened as the minister talked about Leah's short life. He felt Max's hand grabbing for his hand. She held onto his hand for support. He looked to see the tears falling down her face. He wanted to hold her and try to comfort her, but he knew that he couldn't. Minutes later the minister was done. He walked over to Max, telling her and her sister how sorry he was. Sean watched as Max and her sister laid the red roses on the casket, then they turned and walked back to the car that was waiting for them.

"Max, I'm leaving this afternoon, I have to get back. Leah's friends are having memorial for her. Later when all of this has become a little easier, I'll come back and we can sit down and talk about Leah," said Max's sister.

"All right," said Max getting out of the car at the hotel.

Sean stood there beside Max watching as the car pulled away. Max turned and walked across the lobby to the elevator. She let out a sigh of relief as the elevator went to the penthouse. Max opened the door of the penthouse and walked into the living room. She could hear Sean behind her. Then she walked to the window, looking out at the ocean as the waves hit the rocks. She heard Sean as he walked behind her, she felt his arms around her shoulders.

I lost my only child, she thought.

I lost my wife today, thought Sean as they both stood there looking out the window.
